still walls and still locks
... wait winter, wait.

Scratchy and grey
cold crackling day
... where's the rain?

... and these shadows
only presume
to echo.

Just as well
dark and dark cars passing
... this passing place.

No people
no houses
down the road road road ...

What chance have stars
but one
... with meddling boxes?

Raised cutting voices
she shrinks to snows
... and erases.

Beyond the glass
... trees waving
from the tender dance.

Sinks
sitting locked or riding away
... or walking, just walking.

Days within glass
within boxes, within shadows
... within fears to pass.

Sidewalks
of passing voids -
casual carvings ... chip, chip, chip.
